Dynamo defender Taras Mykhalyk
is almost back to full fitness. After a long road of recovery from a
meniscus problem, Taras looks determined to get back to his best as
soon as possible. As you remember, Taras sustained the knee
injury during a last season's 2-0 victory at FC Metalurh Donetsk on 5
April and went under the knife in Belgium. Taras Mykhalyk is still
completing his rehabilitation, but his recent appearances on the
training pitch gives hope that he is not far from returning to full
practice. The full-back has now resumed light ball-work and is expected
to be back in normal training in October.

Dynamo Kyiv forward Balázs Farkas has
been loaned out to FC Fehérvár for the 2009/2010 season. Also known as
FC Videoton Székesfehérvár, the club currently lead their domestic
table with maximum points from four matches.
Dynamo signed the
21-year-old Hungarian striker from Nyíregyháza Spartacus FC in 2006 but
the player failed to claim a regular place in the first team, making
just six appearances. Since then, Balázs has mainly played for Dynamo-2
and the club's reserves, but this didn’t prevent him making an
international debut and playing three games for his national team.

has chosen his playing number. The newest member of Dynamo Kyiv team
will wear the number '21' shirt, the one previously carried by Dynamo
goalkeeper Taras Lutsenko. We also have good news from another newcomer – Brazilian player Leandro Almeida.
The central defender, who sustained knee injury in Austria during the
training camp this summer, now feels fine and is expected to return to
training with the squad within the next few days.

Dynamo
Kyiv kicked off their Ukrainian Cup campaign with a 1-2 victory against
Arsenal Kyiv in the Round of 32 match on Saturday.
With both
teams struggling hard, Dynamo defender Yevhen Khacheridi broke the
deadlock in the 23rd minute with his debut goal for the first team, but
Ionuţ Mazilu's goal after the interval levelled the scores. The
White-Blues, however, continued to threaten much up front and were
eventually rewarded for their persistence, when Dynamo captain Artem
Milevskyy converted a penalty kick given for a foul by Arsenal
goalkeeper. The weekend match also marked the return of Dynamo's
Senegalese defender Pape Diakhaté after his long-term absence due to a
knee injury. 2009/2010 DATAGROUP Ukrainian Cup. Round of 32 ARSENAL – DYNAMO – 1:2 (0:1) Arsenal: 1.Reva

Dynamo’s recent signing Leandro Almeida will not return to
action until the middle of August at the earliest because of a knee
problem. The 22-year-old sustained the injury during Dynamo's 2-3
friendly loss to FC Lokomotiv Moskva on Saturday – his second match for
the club after he joined from Clube Atlético Mineiro during the summer
transfer window.
Almeida underwent medical tests in Belgium on
Monday, which confirmed the diagnosis of Dynamo's medical staff. The
player has damaged knee ligament. Doctors predict that his
rehabilitation will take from six to eight weeks.
